We’ve recently been passed the following news on recycling, which we feel should be publicised.

A recent study found that 20% of what we throw away is paper and card. This means that at least 40,000 tonnes of paper and card in Birmingham is going to waste each year. This could easily be recycled.

The good news is that there is a FREE service for places of worship and community groups in Birmingham funded by Birmingham City Council and Smurfit Kappa Recycling.

They can visit the place of worship or group, discuss practical needs, provide outside recycling bins, provide bags for individual rooms, arrange collections and offer advice, encouragement and information.
