The Warehouse
Birmingham Friends of the Earth has been based in the Warehouse, 54-57 Allison Street, Digbeth, since 1977. It is an old building, made up of a cottage and two warehouses; near the centre of Birmingham. Major changes have been made to the City Centre, but the Warehouse has remained largely unchanged, having evolved, and remains an oasis of sustainability. A solar water heating system was installed early in 2005. More about how the solar is performing here.
The Warehouse has many tenants, including voluntary organisations, a cafe and wholefood shop. More....
Please note: Disabled access to The Warehouse is restricted due to the age of the building, and current lack of funds. There is limited wheelchair access to our ground floor Reception area, but the Warehouse Cafe on the first floor is only reached by stairs.
