Birmingham Friends of the Earth Action Briefing Dec 98/Jan 99 |
Issue 148 of The Voice brought news of Local Involvement Local Action (LILA). The LILA campaign is Birmingham City Council's invitation to people to say how their area could be made a better place to live and to work.
Special meetings, based on Ward Sub-committees, will have speakers giving brief talks on subjects. The Main topic for December is to be the major changes taking place in the National Health Service (NHS). In January, crime problems will be tackled. For details of Ward sub-committee future dates, call Birmingham City Council's Lorna Shaw on 0121 303 2321 or Martin Tolman on 0121 303 4854.
(About Ward sub committees: They comprise the three Ward Councillors and meet with Council officers and the public.)
