Wanted: Christmas Recycling Volunteers

Birmingham Open Christmas, a project set up to provide shelter to homeless people over the Christmas period, will be operating from St. Martins Youth Centre Gooch Street, Highgate, 22nd-29th December 2004.

This year, Ted Duke, a Friends of the Earth supporter from Worcestershire, will attempt to recycle all the project's glass, metals, paper, card, textiles etc., which, considering that the project usually takes in 50-100 people, will be no mean feat.

Ted is looking for willing, able and environmentally-minded volunteers to help with sorting, storing and transporting recyclable materials to nearby recycling banks.
