Wanted: Christmas Recycling Volunteers
Birmingham Open Christmas, a project set up to provide shelter to homeless people over the Christmas period, will be operating from St. Martins Youth Centre Gooch Street, Highgate, 22nd-29th December 2004.
This year, Ted Duke, a Friends of the Earth supporter from Worcestershire, will attempt to recycle all the project's glass, metals, paper, card, textiles etc., which, considering that the project usually takes in 50-100 people, will be no mean feat.
Ted is looking for willing, able and environmentally-minded volunteers to help with sorting, storing and transporting recyclable materials to nearby recycling banks. So if you have time to spare over Christmas to help Ted and would like to attend the initial induction day then please call 01905 794618 for details.
