Masts Meeting
Those controversial
telecommunications masts have been in the news a lot lately, with local communities
demanding more research into the possible links between masts and illness.
Sutton Coldfield Residents
Against Masts (SCRAM) have reported that leading universities are interested
in a researching the effect of telecomms masts on sleep patterns: the hypothesis
is that the pulsing of the mast interferes with the pineal gland, preventing
deep sleep. This in turn weakens the immune system, leading to the clusters
of illnesses, particularly cancer, in Wishaw and other known problem areas in
the UK.
If anyone can help
SCRAM with their ongoing vigil or anything else, their helpline is 0121 313
3718.
Meanwhile, SCRAM, Kings
Heath Forum & Birmingham Friends of the Earth are hosting a public meeting
on the subject of telecomms masts for all active campaigners, local groups and
concerned residents.'Residents Against Masts' will be held at BVSC, 138 Digbeth
High Street on Monday 15th December from 6.30pm-8.30pm.
The meeting will hear
from SCRAM and Kings Heath Forum who have been successful in campaigning against
telephone and tetra masts, as well as from Birmingham Friends of the Earth who
will be giving top tips and advice on running a successful campaign. You can
meet like minded people concerned about the effects of masts in residential
areas, talk to experts from SCRAM, and discover the wealth of information to
help you inform your campaign.
