Grow Your Own Media Lab

Access to Recycled Technology’s Grow Your Own Media Lab project aims to encourage individuals and businesses to donate unused computers to them so that they can be recycled and utilised in a constructive and creative manner by individuals and groups currently excluded from the IT revolution. In conjunction with recycling computers towards creative ends they aim to promote sustainability and renewable energy sources through arts projects that raise public and corporate awareness of these issues.

Grow Your Own Media Lab will run from 25th November to 20th December at Vivid in the Big Peg. Over this period a networked Media Lab will be created with recycled computers and the 100% free and legal operating system GNU/Linux. This Lowtech Media Lab will be available for all to use, just drop in or book yourself onto one of the workshops by contacting Vivid at info@vivid.org.uk or 0121 233 4061. Alternatively if you’ve got an old computer that you’d like to donate email info@a2rt.org. See website www.a2rt.org for full details.
