Worcester Crown Court and GM trial
As you may have seen in the national press, the Herefordshire Two were found
not guilty of criminal damage on November 19th. Barbara Charvet and Jim Ridout
had run out of means to highlight the damage they felt would occur if a GM trial
was allowed to flower. They entered the field and destroyed some of the crop.
A jury found them not guilty. A month of action preceded the trial involving
local campaigners from Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Warwickshire. This was
also the last action for Lorna Jackson, Coventry FOE , who has moved to North
Yorkshire to develop her love of food in opening a delicatessen and who will
no doubt be setting up a local FOE group to further campaigns for real food in
that area. Best wishes from all in WMFOE.
