Bus Fuss Ends In Plus

The group were alerted to the withdrawal of bus company First Midland Red from the 177 and 178 routes between Birmingham and Redditch. As a number of members wrote to Centro and to Worcestershire County, the pleasing outcome is worth reporting.
The service is continuing and in future will be mostly Pete's Travel with route 177 evening services run by Midland Rider. The principle places served are Birmingham (Smallbrook Q'way), Moseley, Kings Heath (Church), Inkford Brook (Horse and Jockey). Route 177 ends at Wythall; routes 178 & 179 to Church Hill and Church Green West in Redditch.
For a Saturday ramble, the first southward bus from Kings Heath leaves at 0900 taking just 20 minutes to reach Inkford Brook. Obviously we wish the new operators every success and trust that timetable availability and marketing will be stepped up.
