Birmingham Friends of the Earth Newsletter December 2001/January 2002

Ed Line

Well, the Warehouse is full and thriving, new campaigning faces pouring in (if that doesn't sound a bit Salvador Dali), and simultaneous campaigns tripping over each other in the top office.. it sounds like advert-speak, but things are pretty lively here at the moment! It's a long time since we put out four press releases in seven days, as we have very recently. Full tenancy in the Top Office is also necessitating certain occupants (self included) learning filing skills as a matter of some urgency.
Esso are again the target of our efforts this month, with an Action on 1st December just before this newsletter reaches you, but there have also been massive developments in the aviation campaign thanks to the decision at Heathrow (p1) We've taken on a couple of new projects (p3, p9) which bring in funds as well as fulfilling our campaign objectives. We're also working on a local food directory and after briefly considering replacing the event with a Do Nothing Day we even managed to squeeze in a quick action on Buy Nothing Day.
Happy Christmas and New Year everyone.
