Guardians of the Earth?
Birmingham Friends of the Earth's highly successful season of speaker evenings continues on 21st November when we will be teaming up with the Islamic Society of Britain (ISB) for 'Humanity: Guardians of the Earth?'
The meeting, which coincides with the start of ISB's Islam Awareness Week, will explore the environmental crisis from an Islamic theological perspective. We are delighted to introduce as our speaker Mr Fazlun Khalid, Director of the Islamic Foundation for Environmental and Ecological Sciences (IFEES). Mr Khalid is the International Convenor of the Alliance of Religion and Conservation, author of 'Qur'an, Creation and Conservation', and editor of Islam and Ecology magazine.
We look forward to seeing you on 21st November, 7pm for 7.30pm start, at the Warehouse Cafe, 54 Allison Street, Digbeth. For more information on IFEES, ISB and Islam Awareness Week, visit www.ifees.org, www.isb.org.uk and www.iaw.org.uk respectively.
