Mark climbs a-board
After five years as board member for the Midlands region, Birmingham FOE's Tracey Fletcher has stood down from the FOE Board to spend more time with her husband Brett and baby Sacha.
I'm sure you will all join me in saying a huge thank you to Tracey for all the work, both in taking forward regional issue and in representing local groups on the Board. Mark Hammond from Rugby FOE takes over from Tracey. Here are some of his initial thoughts:
"For those of you unfamiliar with the workings of the FOE board, there are several sub-committees: Campaign Strategy; Finance; Local Groups; Personnel; and Remuneration. The first three, along with the full Board, meet four times a year; Personnel meet twice and Remuneration once.
Since being elected at September's Local Groups Conference in Leicester, I've been to one Local Groups and one full Board meeting, both in London. The Local Groups' sub-committee moves around the country, giving members from local groups a chance to participate.
The venues for next year's meetings have yet to be decided but there's a chance the sub-group may come to the Midlands. If so you will be invited to attend and make your views known. However, if you would like to discuss any of these matters in advance please do get in touch with me, Mark Hammond, at 34 Poplar Grove, Rugby, CV21 2QR.. Call 01788 560 436 or email mark_hammonduk@yahoo.co.uk."
