Coventry Airport update
A public inquiry is to be held into the controversial prefab passenger terminal at Baginton Airfield (aka Coventry Airport) erected sans planning permission last year. The terminal was used by 300,000 people in 2004 despite key enforcement issues remaining unresolved.
Ever keen to expand their operations while evading regulation, the airport operators TUI turned up to a pre-inquiry meeting to demand that the inquiry consider their appeal against the refusal of planning permission along with their application for an even bigger passenger terminal. What's even more galling is that neither of these two actions had at any time been lodged with the Planning Authority.
We await the Inspector's decision with interest.
