Glastonbury 1998

It has to be dry this year we said with confidence, It’s been raining non-stop for about 4 weeks, it must stop soon! It didn’t, we got soaked. Then came the mud again. Did we care? No. We had ‘welly power’ and, well, only we know.

Once again, Birmingham Friends of the Earth took a team of beautiful people to the 1998 Glastonbury festival to operate the property lock-ups. This year we had 4 lock-ups to operate (one more than last year), which was of course no problem for our dedicated volunteers who have, once again, helped to raise over £3,000 for Birmingham Friends of the Earth campaigning. We would like to thank all those people who donated their time this year (thank you!) and we look forward to seeing you next year. And we will be seeing some of them next year, they’re already signing up!
