Local people going global?

After hearing about the huge injustices in world trade, a group of Redditch residents have formed the Redditch Trade Justice Movement. Campaigner Alistair Waugh said, “the fight for fairer world trade is a vital cause, and one we need to get as many people supporting as possible. For every pound poor countries receive in aid they lose two to unfair trade and that’s just got to change.”

Stafford Friends of the Earth recently organised a litter-busting walk and picnic to highlight the problems associated with litter in the borough. In conjunction with the Friends of the Riverway, we walked along the river bank to the town centre where we all enjoyed a picnic and planned the next stages of our campaign.
