Aviation Month of Action June 2003

The extended Air Transport Consultation ends on June 30th after a month of action across the West Midlands aimed at getting the message across that this dirty, noisy and heavily subsidised industry needs to be reined in.

There will be marches in and around all of the proposed airport expansion sites with MPs of all parties across the region supporting local residents. Look out for the establishment of an aviation parliamentary group and the important site battles that will inevitably soon emerge.

It is vitally important to get our responses in by writing to the DfT explaining why the aviation sector has to be controlled fiscally, socially and environmentally. Send your letters to the Secretary of State Alistair Darling and copy them your MP, (both c/o House of Commons, Westminster, London SW1A 1AA) local authority leader and councillors.
