Jubilee Debt Campaign UK
This is the successor to Jubilee 2000 and has Drop The Debt for its first major project which is the mobilisation of support at the Genoa G8 Summit on July 21st 2001. One of the biggest problems we face is the idea that international debt has been dealt with. We need your help to kill that myth. Galvanise your friends, contacts and generally raise public awareness that the debt has not gone away and neither have we.
The West Midlands/Birmingham group has joined the new coalition along with over 30 other Regional groups including Cafod, Campaign Against the Arms Trade, Evangelical Alliance, Mothers Union, WDM, Tearfund, UNISON, United Reform Church, War on Want. Many other Trade Unions, faith groups and organisations are needed to rejoin the coalition. I was elected to the Board of JDC in March and look forward to having your support at our first event outside London on July 9th. Birmingham has been important in the past and I am sure we can play an important role in the coming months.
