People's Cabaret

Fun(d)raising for FOE

On Sunday 9 May the People's Cabaret will present an evening supporting "green" issues. Friends of the Earth will be the beneficiary of the May Cabaret. The event will feature Sandra Kerr, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan.

A People's Cabaret is a whole new experience for Birmingham audiences. This new Sunday night event opened at the Hare and Hounds, Kings Heath High St. on February 14. The Cabaret is intended as a platform for local performers and national guests. It will include traditional music, song and dance as well as storytelling, theatre and political comedy.

All Cabarets will be benefit events, raising funds for hard hit organisations. The February Cabaret raised over £200 for the survivors of Hurricane Mitch. This will go to the El Salvador community being supported by Birmingham musician Katherine Rogers, whose life and death struggles against the hurricane were much reported in the local press.
