Talks and Presentations

Over the last month we have put a lot of work into giving, and booking for the future, a number of presentations on matters relating to FOE and the environment. The feedback so far has been very good and in all cases our "customers" have been only too happy to give FOE and/or BEEP a small donation in return for the work undertaken.

Who are our customers? Well, basically, anybody who wants us to talk, on virtually any subject. Examples are schools, colleges, social groups, professional organisations, industry etc. etc..

Apart from being a useful source of revenue these talks, to captive and interested (if not already converted) parties provide the opportunity to spread the environmental gospel. Education and awareness are vital objectives as without public support we are unlikely to be successful in any campaigning. Unfortunately, local and national government will usually only take effective action if they believe votes, and their future, is at stake. This is also the ideal opportunity to influence the next generation of business leaders and decision makers. It has also been noted that many membership leaflets have been taken during these talks. Hopefully impressive presentations will result in new and active members.
