Birmingham Friends of the Earth Action Briefing Feb/Mar 99 |
It does still feel a lot like winter, but plants are budding everywhere and the crocuses have burst into flower.
The Action Briefing makes a fresh start into the year with new editors: John Dawsom and Malte Plath have taken over from Richard Partridge. We hope to live up to the high standards Richard set. Thanks for doing a great job, Richard! And good luck in your new job in Nottingham.
Despite the cold and forbidding weather in the last couple of months, Birmingham Friends of the Earth haven't been in hibernation as you can see from this edition. There has been a lot going on - and a lot remains to be campaigned about.
One of the big issues of this year didn't make the print date: Genetically Modified Crops are [going to be] the topic of much hot debate, and you can be sure that Birmingham Friends of the Earth will continue to protest about them.
If you would like to get involved with this campaign (or indeed any other campaign), come to one of our campaigns meetings on Monday nights, 7.30pm at the Warehouse.
See you,
