Friends of the Earth's climate change campaign, The Big Ask, is already off to a great start in 2006. Early Day Motion (EDM) 178 is currently topping the parliamentary petition chart with the most signatures!

What we do with our so-called 'rubbish' is once againabout to become a hot topic of conversation.

  • Energy Beyond Oil
Do we need ready-meals, cheap flights to Spain, 4x4’s, Britney Spears videos, Formula One racing, plastic umbrellas . .? According to Paul Mobbs we'll have to do without these for a sustainable future.
  • March for Climate Action

  • Energy efficiency in a spin (around the world)
I was recently staggered at the news of a couple who wish to break the round-the-world record for fuel efficiency in their 2005 Golf FSI. They plan to complete the 18,000-mile trip in 70 days using at most 50 tanks of specially-formulated, next-generation fuel.
  • National Rail: Towards a more 'open' rail network?
The Parry People Mover, which operates to move people between Stourbridge Junction and Stourbridge Town stations on Sundays, is special not just because of its uniqueness but also because of the openness of thinking which National Rail are demonstrating.
