Airport Residents Group Takes Off
At a meeting on Wednesday 23rd January here at the Warehouse, several of the
people who have been involved in the budding airport residents' campaign over
the last few months met together to formally set up a residents' action group,
following on from the Public Meeting in Lea Hall in October last year.
The action group is now formally set up, though not yet christened - they are
working on a name with a catchy acronym!
They will be starting their activities with:
* a recruitment drive around Easter when the airport season really starts
* prior to the local council elections in May, they will find out where the local
councillors stand on the issue and get them to publicly commit to this stance.
These actions will be organised at the group's second meeting sometime in March.
For now, the group has decided that contact details remain ourselves at FOE,
as we have the resources to provide this. So contact us if you have any questions
or wish to join.
