Warehouse News

From January, the Warehouse has a new cleaner - Keith Stein, one of our long-serving volunteers. The cleaning budget has been supplemented with part of our maintenance budget, to enable us to employ Keith part-time, for at least six months. He comes in each day to clean the toilets and kitchen areas, and also becomes our general handyman, doing all the improvements we knew needed doing, but were too busy to do.
The effect is marked, already. With the help of Mandie, a new volunteer, the general Warehouse (i.e. not the smart bits you see if you come to the Cafe9!) is losing its neglected air and peeling paintwork; and is even looking smart in a few places. Well done, Keith and Mandie: keep up the good work.
The Meeting Room is not just used by our Campaigns. 'Outside' bookings for meetings, etc. bring in a modest, but steady, income. We'd love to be able to afford comfortable stacking chairs, instead of the current plastic ones. In the meantime, to make it a bit more comfortable, we appeal to you - for cushions! Donations of cushions from 25 or 30 of you would make meetings that bit easier on the bum! We may be able to collect if required.
