Two Volunteers Needed For Ecotopia 2000

Ecotopia 2000 team is looking for two lovely, creative, non-polluting & devoted persons to work for a year in Finland.

Ecotopia is an annual gathering for European activists involved in social and environmental issues.   At the same time it is the summer gathering of EYFA (European Youth For(est) Action).   400-600 activists are expected to come to Finland in August 2000 to create their own eco-utopia for two weeks.   Small area in Finland will turn into an eco community where people share their skills and knowledge in workshops, plan new campaigns, do networking and save a small part of the world by using compost toilets and renewable energy.   The main theme of next year's Ecotopia will be globalisation.

To turn Ecotopia into reality we want two foreign activists to help us with:

Preferably you have some experience in organising big events & fundraising, speak and write English fluently, like teamwork, have a flexible attitude and enough courage to survive the Finnish culture, nature, language and traditional food.

Applicants have to be under 26 years old and come from EU, Iceland, Norway, Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia or Turkey.   The work will start as soon as possible and continue until November/December 2000.   Volunteers will receive insurance, travel to and from their home country, local and national travel, travel to 2 international EYFA gatherings, language lessons, accommodation and pocket money.   The funding is provided by the European Union.
