ALLIANCE AGAINST THE BIRMINGHAM NORTHERN RELIEF ROAD

1. On 23rd July 1997 the Secretary of State, for Environment Transport and the Regions approved the Birmingham Northern Relief Road (BNRR). This decision has been challenged in the Courts by the following appellants: Alliance Against The Birmingham Northern Relief Road; Charles Bradshaw-Smith, Jack Stuart, Barbara Langford, Roy Allen, Malcolm Dunn, Lilly Jones.

2. The appellants were unsuccessful in the High Court and are now contemplating an appeal to the Court of Appeal.

3. In consideration of the appellants pursuing the appeal to the Court of Appeal, I the undersigned undertake to pay on demand to the Treasurer of the Alliance Against the BNRR a sum up to £_______ as a contribution to the appellants' legal costs.
