Outcomes of the June 2006 conference
Concrete outcomes of the June 2006 conference include a Birmingham multi-faith declaration on climate change, a 5 minutes DVD and a multi-faith and environment photo exhibition (for both items, see our links and resources page). The multi-faith declaration has been added by the Council as annex to the Council’s climate change strategy paper (see www.bhamsp.org.uk/html/ClimateChange.php). In summary the declaration states that “we will work together as faith communities to achieve a just, low-carbon society for all, in order to safeguard the planet for the future. We believe that tackling climate change is a moral issue. We are seeking a just society in which quality of life is measured through human happiness and not material consumption”. Another outcome of the conference is the "Ambassador project".
